A passion for yoga and a love for children and teens is at the core of this yoga teacher training program, designed to provide the tools and knowledge needed to share the gifts of yoga with young people.

The goal of the “Yoga for Children & Teens” Training Course is to give yoga teachers guidelines for teaching yoga to children and teens, as well as practical tools they can use to adapt yoga practices to their needs. The course is based on the teachings of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organization and Swami Vishnudevananda’s 5 Points of Yoga and offers an exceptional opportunity to observe and practice teaching children and teens directly.

Offered during Family Week and Teen Karma Yoga Week, course participants receive a unique, hands on experience.

The three day intensive course covers :

  • Teaching methodology
  • Age appropriate teaching techniques (adapted asanas, pranayama, relaxation and visualizations; yoga based games…)
  • Developing lesson plans according to the developmental and socio-emotional needs of children and teens
  • Activities that teach yoga precepts and mindful living

The course is conducted amid the peaceful ashram environment with a schedule designed for attendees to participate in yoga classes and activities while having the time to relax and enjoy the beautiful Laurentian mountains.

It is recommended that you arrive a day before the course in order to settle into the ashram routine.
